Metal Coated Fibre

Metal Coated Fibre

Litetec have updated their website to include information on our range of metal coated fibres. These fibres use pure metals of copper, aluminium and gold to give higher temperature use, better hermeticity and higher strength than polymer fibres.

Our metal coated fibres can withstand temperatures up to 500oc for long periods of time or 700oc for shorter periods of time.

This fibre makes for a good comparison with gold coated fibres, but at a fraction of the cost.

This fibre can also be produced in much longer lengths (up to 1km) and come in a variety of fibre types including single mode, graded index and step index large core fibres in UV and IR grades of silica.

Further information on these types of metal coated fibre can be found here;

light guide range

Light Guide Range

Specialising in fibre optics, we can create light guides in any capacity for medical, industrial and scientific use.

Recently, we have added our current light guide range on our website, here

We have a manufacturing base in doncaster, and can terminate and grind/polish fibre.

From silica to polymer and glass we can also custom make light guides.

We stock polymer fibre in various diameters including, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0mm diameter. We also stock very rare 1.2 x 1.2mm square polymer fibre, which is often used to make slits and has an excellent packing factor.

Polymer fibre can be supplied with black covering.

Sample packs available for polymer fibre, starting at only £9.99 for a metre of 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 64 strand fibre.

litetec sucess at photonix exhibtion

litetec ltd attendance at photonix exhibition!
The show helped promote our opening of a fibre optic manufacturing base in the UK. This was recieved with much success.
Visitors were interested in our abilities to produce high tech fibre optic light guides including polymer, silica and UV.
